This week we are learning all about the letter Ee. Today we learned how to write Ee in upper/lower case, learned the long and short Ee sounds, and the "sign" for Ee. Our Board Story was about Edna the Elephant balancing eggs on her head. Our Board Words are envelope, elephant, eggs, and eagle. We added 5 additional words to our board. Good Job!! At the Writing Center we did our Getting Ready Ee page. We are still learning how to do these pages, but are doing a good job. It will get easier as time goes by. In the Art Center we designed our own pumpkins. What a fun project!! Once we are done with those we will do a writing activity titled All About My Pumpkin. We also watched a short story about Christopher Columbus. We had a fun day in Preschool.
**Special Notes:
*Please note : Picture Retake Day is November 3rd.
NO SCHOOL on Monday, Oct. 18th. It is a Professional Development Day for staff.
*If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. I know it may just be a runny nose, a sniffle, some congestion, a cough, etc.... Many of our little ones do not wipe or blow their noses appropriately. They instead use their arms, their hands, or nothing at all. We see nasal mucus running down their nose, into their mouth, down their chin. Or, we see them wipe their noses over and over again because they cannot blow them and their poor little noses are red and raw. They are tired, have head fog, and are unable to pay attention or participate in class. This is preschool. Missing time from class will be okay. Let them be little and get the needed TLC they need.
I try to wash/sanitize hands whenever possible, but I can only do so much. We are seeing colds, allergies, coughs, sore throats, headaches, and more. Let's work together to try and keep everyone around us safe and healthy.
*Everyone is adjusting well to our classroom routine. Our Friday's will now be called Fun Friday. We will do our art crafts on Friday, have a special treat, etc... I did this last year and it was a big hit. Everyone loved Fun Friday.
*Please remember to keep our morning snack small. I am seeing some Preschoolers coming with 2-4 things to eat. That is too much. They do not have time to eat that much or they are eating it and then do not want to eat their lunch. If several items are in their bags for snack, I am only allowing them to pick 1 thing. The rest will be sent home. Thank you.
*Our Halloween party will be on Friday, Oct. 29th. Our Room Moms have a special craft planned and have some festive foods ready to go for our first class party. We will NOT be dressing up in costumes for this day. Instead, please send your child to school in black/orange.
