This week we learned all about the letter Vv. Our Board Words are Van, Volleyball, Violin, and Vegetables. Our Board Story was about Victor the Vulture wearing a violet vest. Our Circle Time Stories: My "V" Book and the the letter Vv Sound Box by Scholastic News, Vegetables, Vegetables by Fay Robinson, and Growing Vegetable Soup by Lois Ehlert.
In our Writing Center we learned to write letter Vv the correct way in upper/lower case, learned the Vv sound, and learning the "sign" for Vv. We brainstormed 12 Vv words for our board. Great job Preschool!!!
In Science this week we learned all about vegetables. We brainstormed vegetables that we like to eat - carrots and cucumbers seem to be the favorites. We also learned about seeds and what they need to grow (soil, water, sun, and air). Today we planted vegetables and are so excited to watch them grow. Check out our classroom blog to see some of our pictures.
Religion: We used the St. Patrick's Day clover to learn all about the Trinity. I hope you all saw their Religion project that came home on Wednesday.
It has been a busy and fun-filled week in Preschool. We continue with all of our March is Reading Month activities. A classroom favorite is DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read).
Special Notes:
*Mrs. J. and I are beginning to plan our Easter Egg Hunt. To make this event a success, I am asking that each family send in 1-2 bags of candy so that we can stuff our plastic eggs. Please do not send in candy with nuts/tree nuts due to allergies. We sometimes get lots of peanut butter cups. We are a nut free classroom. Here are some examples of safe candies to send: Skittles, Hershey Kisses, Sour Patch candies, Starbust, Tootsie Rolls, Whoppers, Smarties, mini Hershey Chocolate Candy bars, Jelly Bellies, small KitKat bars, Milky Way bars, Nestle Crunch, Dots. Check out Nut free and Peanut Free Candy for a complete list. Remember: we need to fit these candies into plastic Easter eggs.
THANK YOU!!!!
